Kids Camp is an outdoor activity for Costanoa campers ages 6-12 years old. This is a perfect opportunity for children to have some fun and give Parents a chance to relax. Due to the variety of activities and events, times will vary. Please see our Activities Calendar for specific dates, times, prices and offerings.
Reservations are required. Call the Activities Department to signup in advance 650-879-7312 or signup at the Front Desk upon arrival. Closed-toed shoes, sunscreen and a water-bottle highly recommended. Be prepared to make a mess! Below are some of the many Kids Camp Activities we offer.
Crabs, anemones, sculpin and maybe even an octopus! This is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of our proximity to the coast. During this three-hour program we will make a 2.5mile roundtrip hike to Whitehouse Creek beach to uncover ocean treasures! Children must be able to hike this distance unassisted.
What would a camping trip be without Tie-Dye? Make your own oneof- a-kind shirt to show off when you get home. One shirt provided per child. Feel free to bring your own items to dye too!
Come make your own paper, from recycled materials! We will be creating our own unique papers that can be planted in moist soil to sprout wildflowers! Not only is this a fun project, but we are also helping reduce waste by reusing and recycling materials!
Shake-N-Make Ice Cream!
We all scream for Ice Cream! Come learn how to make your own without electricity. If the season is right we can go pick our own blackberries to make a fruity variety! Other activities may include but are not limited to; Scavenger Hunts, Make-your-own Field Guides, Plant Prints, Lawn Bowling, Kite-Building and other fun and games.

You can also add on a tour of the Rancho del Oso Nature Center.
Gazos Creek Road
For those with a limited amount of time but want to see as much as possible and get some exercise as well. Start at Costanoa and take Old Highway 1 to the North where you can take in the windswept views of Franklin Point Beach. Gazos Creek Road then meanders east into a land of towering Redwoods and massive Ferns. Stop and break along the creek bed to cool your feet before the downhill leg back to Costanoa. This intermediate ride takes up to 2 hours. For those who want to add on some mileage you can add a lunch stop in Pescadero and then return to Costanoa via Highway 1 South passing by Historic Pigeon Point Lighthouse on the way.
Butano Fire Roads
For the ambitious and experienced only! Warm up along 7 miles of country backroads before entering Butano State Park. Butano is home to a complex system of hidden fire roads that lead to exhilarating saddlebacks and unparalleled views of the surrounding State Parks. The final drop back into the Redwoods will challenge the most technically advanced riders. This is a half-day event geared for serious enthusiasts.
