Kids Camp is a great opportunity for Costanoa Campers to play and explore. Open to ages 6-12, $25 per participant per session. We ask that participants dress in light layers and show up pre-sun screened with their own water or beverage and we will provide snacks. Advanced reservations are required with at least 3 hours notice to secure your spot. Call 650-879-7312 for additional reservations and information.
Tuesdays: With advanced notice we are happy to arrange for private Kids Camp or Kids Horseback riding sessions any day of the week. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for details and pricing.
Wednesdays: 1-2:30pm Kids Horse Rides. 15 minute introductory rides for campers age 10 and under on a full size horse. More ambitious riders may want to consider a 30 minute appointment as a warm up for one of our guided trail rides.
Saturdays: 11-12 Kids Tie-Dye Workshop. What would a vacation be with out making a Tie-dye? T-shirt provided or bring your own.
Saturdays: 1-3pm Kids Nature Printing. Use what we find in nature to make an awesome art project to take home or gift.
Sundays: 10-12 Nature Hikes. Come on an exciting hike to the beach and explore in the tide pools or up into the hills to learn about the native plants and animals. Destination depends on weather and tide.
We have a fleet of Specialized Front Suspension, 27 speed, Rock-hoppers available for rent. Bike rentals are $15 per hour or $60 for a full day, rental includes helmet. Bikes are available through the Front Desk from 9am-5pm. Reservation may be made for Full Day Rentals only. All rentals are due back by dark.

Skyline to the Sea Trail
This is a one of a kind opportunity to explore California's first State Park. The Waddell Creek trailhead is 5 miles south of Costanoa. This is 12 miles round trip designed for beginning to intermediate riders. Doublewide fire roads meander along Waddell Creek and eventually up to spectacular Berry Creek Falls. You can also add on a tour of the Rancho del Oso Nature Center.
Gazos Creek Road
For those with a limited amount of time but want to see as much as possible and get some exercise as well. Start at Costanoa and take Old Highway 1 to the North where you can take in the windswept views of Franklin Point Beach. Gazos Creek Road then meanders east into a land of towering Redwoods and massive Ferns. Stop and break along the creek bed to cool your feet before the downhill leg back to Costanoa. This intermediate ride takes up to 2 hours. For those who want to add on some mileage you can add a lunch stop in Pescadero and then return to Costanoa via Highway 1 South passing by Historic Pigeon Point Lighthouse on the way.
Butano Fire Roads
For the ambitious and experienced only! Warm up along 7 miles of country backroads before entering Butano State Park. Butano is home to a complex system of hidden fire roads that lead to exhilarating saddlebacks and unparalleled views of the surrounding State Parks. The final drop back into the Redwoods will challenge the most technically advanced riders. This is a half-day event geared for serious enthusiasts.
Guided Trail Rides with Blue Sky Riding Experience
Experience Costanoa from the top of one of our World Class Tennessee Walking horses. Our leisurely rides will take you through the Grassland Meadows and Pine forests surrounding Costanoa with ample opportunity to view the Pacific Ocean, Ano Nuevo Island and Pigeon Point Lighthouse.
All rides are of a beginner pace.
Reservations required and must be made with a minimum of 3 hours notice. Group Rides are $105 per participant. If you are not staying at Costanoa, a credit card deposit will be required at time of reservation.
Trail Ride Times: 10:00am, 12:00pm, 3:00pm, 5:00pm
All rides include ½ hour group instruction and 1 hour on trail. Please check in at the stables 5 minutes prior to your scheduled ride. Late arrivals will not be accommodated. Groups must check in together for safety briefing, equipment fitting and trail instruction.
Private and Advanced rides of a full 2 hours on the trails may be arranged for riders 18 and older at the rate of $245 per person.
Long pants and sturdy closed toe shoes are required as well as a helmet [which we provide]. Child riders must be at least 10 years old. Ages 10 through 17 may ride on the trails above Costanoa if they can demonstrate horseback riding experience and must meet the height requirement of 4’6’’. Children under the ages of 10 may join us on our weekend 15 minute Kids Rides or arrange for a private lesson at the rate of $75 per hour per person. All riders under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian on site to sign the release of liability forms. We will determine eligibility of all riders.
Maximum weight: 200 lbs.
CANCELLATION POLICY: cancellations received less than 72 hours prior to the scheduled ride will be billed at full rate unless cancelled due to weather conditions determined by Blue Sky.
